Time tracking provider activation
LogSense for Jira can operate as Jira Cloud's time tracking provider (Forge module jira:timeTrackingProvider, key logsense-time-provider). This is the recommended way to use the app in version 2.0.0.
LogSense Settings — General
Per-space configuration is in Space settings under LogSense Settings (jira:projectSettingsPage). From version 2.1.0, values can inherit from site-wide global settings when the space has no override. The General tab has been redesigned in this release to improve visual hierarchy, labels, and the configuration flow.
LogSense Settings — Work Types
The Work Types tab defines the work type catalog users select when logging time. If the space defines no catalog, it inherits types from site-wide global settings.
LogSense Settings — Holidays
The Holidays tab defines the space's holiday calendar. When holiday blocking is active on the General tab, users cannot log time on those dates.
LogSense Settings — Approval
The Approval tab in Space Settings → LogSense Settings lets you enable the worklog approval workflow and configure who can approve or reject time entries.
Dashboard gadgets
LogSense for Jira provides two gadgets for reviewing and managing time information from a Jira dashboard:
Site-wide global settings
From version 2.1.0, site administrators can define site-level default values that spaces inherit or override. This avoids repeating the same configuration in every space. In this release, the LogSense global configuration screen has been redesigned to improve visual hierarchy, labels, and the configuration flow, without changing the underlying functional scope.
eazyBI integration
From version 2.1.0, LogSense writes billable and work type metadata into the Jira worklog comment using a structured stamp. eazyBI can read that stamp with calculated fields without accessing Forge KVS.
Billing
Billing periods let administrators open and close weekly or monthly periods to control logging and editing of time in the space. A closed period blocks logging or editing work on those dates, which helps keep what is logged consistent with what is billed.
Logging rules
The Logging rules tab controls which work item states and types allow time logging in the space. These restrictions apply when creating and editing worklogs.
