The Work Profile is the fundamental pillar on which Jira Capacity Planner operates. This global configuration establishes the standard work schedule for the entire organization, defining the working hours for each day of the week. It is the benchmark for all availability and capacity calculations.
Holiday Calendars
Holiday Calendars are an essential tool for accurately adjusting your teams' real capacity. They allow you to register specific non-working days, such as national or regional holidays or company events, that are not part of the standard weekend defined in the Work Profile.
Absence Types
The Absence Types functionality allows you to create a standardized set of categories for employee absences. This standardization is key to obtaining a clear view and consistent reports on why a team member is unavailable.
Team Management
The Teams section is the organizational core of Jira Capacity Planner. This is where user groups are defined, assigned a theoretical workload, and linked to specific calendars and projects. A correct definition of teams is vital for capacity planning to be a true reflection of your organization's reality.
Enabled Projects
This section allows you to control in which Jira projects the Jira Capacity Planner tool will be available. For the planner tab to appear in a project's side menu, it must be explicitly added to the list of "enabled projects".
