Creating the Encrypted Field
To start using Jira Secure Fortress, the first step is to create a custom field of one of the available encrypted types.
Secure Fortress Dashboard
The Jira Secure Fortress Dashboard is the unified control center for all your encrypted fields.
Field Configuration
The configuration of each encrypted field allows you to precisely define who can view its content, either statically or dynamically.
Audit Logs (Logs)
The Logs feature of Jira Secure Fortress provides a detailed and extended record of all important interactions with your encrypted fields. This is essential for regulatory compliance, security auditing, and for maintaining strict control over your sensitive information.
Protecting Existing Fields
Jira Secure Fortress allows you not only to create encrypted fields from scratch, but also to convert any existing custom field to an encrypted field, automatically protecting all the information that was already stored in it. Likewise, if you ever need to return an encrypted field to its original state, you can revoke its protection.
Key Rotation
Key rotation is the process of replacing the active encryption key of a field with a new automatically generated key, while simultaneously re-encrypting all existing values of the field with the new key.
