Atlassian Marketplace Licensing

From version 4.0.0, Admin Essentials for Jira is distributed as a paid product on the Atlassian Marketplace. The app requires an active license to edit custom fields, configure thresholds and contexts, and create or modify workflow validators. Data already stored on issues remains visible without a license.

Paid product

The license covers the full application — there is no per-module licensing. Billing and renewals are managed through the Atlassian Marketplace and your site's consolidated invoice.

Product policies

Already-configured workflow validators

A workflow validator already saved on a transition may keep applying even after the license expires. This is a Jira platform limitation: rules stored in the workflow do not check license state at transition time.

Practical implications:

  • License protection applies when configuring validators (creating, editing, or saving changes).
  • To stop enforcement after expiry, the administrator must remove or disable the validator in the workflow.
