🏷️ Attachment labels​

✏️ Rename attachments​

  • Use Rename attachments to change an attachment's base name; the extension is preserved.
  • The name is validated to prevent empty, overly long, or invalid values.
  • Jira Cloud has no native rename operation: FileUtils Pro uploads a replacement and deletes the original only after the upload is confirmed successful.

Renaming does not update file embeds in comments or descriptions. The new file appears in the attachment list, but a preview or link to the original file may stop working. Automatic updates to those references are not part of this version.

The Space attachments view lists up to 100 attachments from work items visible to the user. This version is available for Jira Cloud; Data Center and the Jira Service Management customer portal are outside the product scope.

🔒 Security and maintenance​

  • Preventive internal dependency updates: resolved two critical-severity and sixteen high-severity findings, including the PDF library; also removed an unused Excel dependency.
  • No functional changes: PDF and image merging, image-to-PDF conversion, ZIP compression, Spanish and English language support, and Runs on Atlassian eligibility remain as in version 1.6.0.
  • Office-to-PDF conversion: Word and Excel document conversion to PDF remains unavailable, as in version 1.6.0.
  • Direct upgrade: compatible with Forge 5.0.0; no migration, administrator action, or Forge permission changes are required.

🌐 Interface available in Spanish and English​

  • The FileUtils Pro interface follows the user's Jira profile or context locale when available.
  • Spanish and English are supported. If the Jira language has no translation, the interface falls back to English.
  • File names and ticket data are not translated.

🛡️ Processing without external services​

  • FileUtils Pro is eligible for the Runs on Atlassian badge.
  • Word and Excel document conversion to PDF is temporarily unavailable.
  • Image-to-PDF conversion, PDF and image merging, and ZIP compression remain available.

🛡️ Confirmation before deleting files​

  • Protection against accidental deletions: When you use the Attach and delete originals option with more than 5 files in the staging area, a confirmation dialog is now displayed before proceeding.
    • The dialog shows the complete list of files that will be deleted.
    • It includes a clear warning indicating that this action cannot be undone.
    • You must explicitly confirm to continue, preventing accidental loss of important attachments.

✨ Custom name for the resulting file​

  • Edit the generated file name: You can now customize the name of the resulting file directly from the app footer, in the merge, conversion, and compression flows.
    • An automatic name is suggested by default (MERGED_[ISSUE-KEY].pdf, CONVERTED_[ORIGINAL-NAME].pdf, or FILES_[ISSUE-KEY].zip).
    • The system validates characters in real time; these are not allowed: / \ : * ? " < > |.
    • It shows a counter and sets a maximum limit of 100 characters.
  • Updated visual identity: FileUtils Pro adopts its new official logo, with a rounded-corner square background and a grayish-whitish 3D effect, aligned with the product visual identity.

  • New Compress tab: Now you can group multiple ticket attachments into a single .zip file quickly and easily.
    • Select the files you need and compress them into a single file.
    • Customize the name of the resulting file.
    • View compression progress in real time.
    • Download the compressed file or attach it directly to the ticket.

🛡️ Visual Validations in Staging​

  • Warnings before processing: The system warns you when there are files that cannot be processed.
    • Badge, tooltip, and visual highlight when a file exceeds the configured maximum size.
    • The same visual warnings when a file has an incompatible format.
    • The action button is automatically disabled while there are invalid files in the preparation area.

⚙️ Stability Improvements​

  • Error Boundary: If an unexpected error occurs, you will see a recovery screen with clear options to retry or reload.
  • Automatic retries: On connection problems, the system retries the operation with exponential backoff.
  • Actionable error messages: Useful information for 4xx/5xx errors from Jira and CloudConvert.
