Installation Guide

Installing the Jira Secure Fortress add-on is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get started.

Prerequisites

• You must be a Jira Administrator to install or update apps.
• Ensure that your Jira Data Center instance is compatible with the version of the add-on you are installing.
• Starting with version 3.0.0, the add-on requires Jira Data Center 11.3 LTS (Java 21). If your instance is still on Jira 10.x, install and stay on version 2.5.0 of the add-on.

Manual Installation (Using a file)

Once you have downloaded the add-on file (.jar or .obr), you can install it manually:

1. From the Manage apps screen, click on Upload app.
2. Click on Choose File and select the add-on file you downloaded.
3. Click on Upload. The add-on will be installed, and you will receive a confirmation message.

Upgrading from a previous version

• If your site is already on Jira Data Center 11.3, you can upgrade to version 3.0.0 using the standard .jar upload process in Manage apps. There is no need to migrate keys, permissions, or scope configurations: your existing 2.5.0 configuration continues to work.
• If your site is still on Jira 10.x, do not install version 3.0.0; stay on version 2.5.0 until you upgrade your Jira platform.
