Installation Guide

Installing the Jira Capacity Planner plugin is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get started.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a Jira Administrator to install or update apps.
  • Ensure that your Jira Data Center instance is compatible with the version of the plugin you are installing.
  • Jira Capacity Planner 2.0.0 requires Jira Data Center 11.3 (Java 21). If your Jira site is still on version 10.x, install Jira Capacity Planner 1.3.1 instead.

Jira Data Center Compatibility (Multi-Node)

Jira Capacity Planner has been fully validated to run in a multi-node (clustered) Jira Data Center environment. The add-on ensures stable operation and consistent performance in high-availability setups.

Upgrading from Version 1.3.1

If you already have Jira Capacity Planner 1.3.1 installed and your Jira site has been upgraded to Jira Data Center 11.3, you can install version 2.0.0 by following the same manual installation process below. No migration or reconfiguration of teams, work profiles, holiday calendars, or absences is required: all your configuration is preserved.

If your Jira site is still on version 10.x, do not install version 2.0.0: continue using version 1.3.1 until your platform is upgraded.

Manual Installation (Using a file)

Once you have downloaded the plugin file (.jar or .obr), you can install it manually:

  1. From the Manage apps screen, click on Upload app.
  2. Click on Choose File and select the plugin file you downloaded.
  3. Click on Upload. The plugin will be installed, and you will receive a confirmation message.

Congratulations, the plugin is now installed! You can proceed with the Administrator Guide to start configuring Jira Capacity Planner and using it in your projects.
