Installation Guide
Installing Admin Essentials for Jira on your Jira Cloud instance is done through a Forge install link provided by MB Group. The add-on is not listed on the Atlassian Marketplace; use the link on this page to enable it on your site.
Prerequisites​
- You must have Jira Administrator or Site Administrator permissions to install Forge apps on your tenant.
- An active internet connection and access to your Jira Cloud instance (
your-domain.atlassian.net). - Jira Service Management (JSM) compatibility: The add-on's custom fields work in JSM projects, including the agent view and the customer portal.

This install link is signed by Atlassian and may expire over time. If it stops working or you need to enable an additional site, contact MB Group for an updated link.
Installation steps (Administrators)​
Follow these instructions to enable the add-on across your organization:
- Sign in: Make sure you are signed in at id.atlassian.com with an account that has admin permissions on the Jira Cloud site where you want to install the add-on.
- Open the install link: Click the install link on this page (or use the link MB Group sent you by email or chat).
- Select your site: In the Atlassian Developer console, choose the Jira Cloud site (
your-domain.atlassian.net) where you want to install the app. - Review permissions: A dialog will display the permissions (scopes) the app requires. Review them carefully.
- Confirm installation: Click Accept, Install, or the equivalent button shown in the Forge console to complete installation on the selected site.
- Verify: In Jira, go to Apps → Manage apps (or Settings → Apps → Manage apps) and confirm that Admin Essentials for Jira is listed as installed.
The app requests read permissions on fields, contexts, projects, issue types, and priorities, plus read/write permissions on contextual configuration of custom fields (to persist Traffic Light KPI thresholds per context). All scopes follow Forge's least-privilege principle.
Not an administrator?​
You won't be able to complete installation on your own. Share this Installation Guide —especially the install link— with a Jira administrator in your organization so they can follow the steps above.
Licensing and support​
Because the add-on is distributed outside the Atlassian Marketplace, licensing, billing, and renewals are not managed through Atlassian's billing panel. For commercial inquiries, license expansion, or a new install link, contact MB Group through your usual support channels.
Automatic updates (Forge)​
Unlike Data Center plugins, Forge apps are updated automatically from Atlassian's infrastructure, with no manual administrator intervention required.
If a future version of the add-on introduces new scopes, Atlassian will notify you and request explicit approval before applying the update. Versions that don't change permissions are applied transparently.
